The long Easter weekend is nearly upon us, and it’s certainly a cause for celebration. It’s such a wonderful time of year – longer days, a touch of sunshine and the joy and fun of Christmas, without all the extra pressure. From planning an Easter egg hunt to hosting a sophisticated brunch with friends, here are some of our favourite ways to entertain and mark the occasion.
Tablescape the perfect brunch
Gather loved ones and show off your Easter feast to its best advantage with a truly stunning table. Start your tablescape with layers – a beautiful tablecloth, pretty placemats such as Niwa in a springtime olive green, or, if you want to add some vibrant colour, the Leaves felt placemats in sunset pink will pop on your table.
Next, layer on charger plates, dinner plates and smaller accent plates. Channel beautiful, rustic styling with the Dapple Glaze ceramic tableware and complement it with the Perugia stacking tumblers to mix and match different textures, colours and patterns.
Lastly, decorate your table with an array of flowers to add a lovely outdoor touch. The Dapple Glaze jug can be used as a water pitcher or for displaying fragrant blooms as your centrepiece.

Family lunch buffet
If you have a large family, why not host a buffet-style lunch? Make it a little fancy with dishes like smoked mackerel on toasted crumpets, spring lamb skewers and salad, new potatoes with asparagus, jammy eggs and pickled radish – fresh, seasonal recipes your guests will love. The great thing about Easter is that you’re not restricted to a traditional roast dinner.
Take the pressure off and delegate nibbles and desserts to your guests. While our Leonardo extending table is brilliant for hosting, we also love the idea of a large grazing spread sprawled across the table. These oak trays are ideal for presenting dishes and adding to your Easter buffet.
Get the conversation flowing with these pretty, pastel-coloured glasses – each glass features a distinct hue and shape, adding a touch of luxe to your gathering.

Easter picnic
Make the most of this glorious weather and a flower-filled park or garden with an alfresco get-together. Layer quilted blankets and throws with colourful cushions for a cosy base, then add some oak mini deckchairs and a deck table to take your picnic party to a new level of comfort. There’s nothing more enjoyable than being out in nature, soaking up the beautiful sunshine.

Children’s themed tea party
If you’re hosting children over the bank holiday, how about celebrating with a Peter Rabbit-themed afternoon tea? Think cucumber finger sandwiches, mini carrot cakes and chamomile tea presented beautifully on a rack or folding tray. Then it’s time for the all-important egg hunt – these adorable tubs with handy carry handles are great for kids to collect their Easter treats. End the day with popcorn and a showing of the Peter Rabbit movie for the perfectly wholesome day.

Craft and sip party
If you’re looking for something unique to do with friends, craft and sip parties are brilliant for adults who want a little arty fun. Whether it’s crafting an Easter wreath, colourful marbled eggs or homemade chocolate treats, transform your dining table into a creative haven with a station for each of your guests. Store utensils and craft items in a clever tabletop trug or a handy box caddy.
Make it extra special with seasonal cocktails and canapés. Treat guests to unctuous Scandi-inspired canapés from Peter’s Yard – quail eggs placed in beetroot pickle and served on charcoal and rye sourdough crackers with dill and chive sour cream. Delicious! Display on stylish Mizu enamel trays for extra wow factor. Follow with rich chocolate mini egg martinis served in cocktail glasses like Flo – an evening like this is sure to be a big hit with grown-ups.
