Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Festival
Pontefract, West Yorkshire (Until 31 October 2025)
Wander through more than 300,000 homegrown pumpkins in over 40 unique varieties, creating a patchwork of orange, white, green and even striped pumpkins across the fields. It’s the ultimate pumpkin patch in Yorkshire and the perfect backdrop for Instagram-worthy photos and family memories. Highlights include witches’ story time, magical performances, live music, fairground rides, delicious street food and more. There’s plenty of spooky fun for all ages.

Luminara, The Enchanted Forest
Pitlochry, Scotland (Until 2 November 2025)
Step into The Enchanted Forest to discover Luminara, an inspiring fusion of nature and technology set in the stunning Faskally Wood. This year’s immersive trail invites you to become a Chosen Reconnector, restoring light and balance to a fading, intelligent ecosystem. As you journey through glowing trees and interactive installations, your choices help revive Luminara’s living network. With breathtaking visuals, immersive soundscapes and a powerful message of harmony between nature and innovation, this is a spellbinding adventure for both young and old alike.
Falmouth Events Square (9 – 12October 2025)
October marks the start of native oyster season in Cornwall, making it the perfect time for shucking and tasting at the popular Falmouth Oyster Festival. Held on the picturesque waterfront, the festival offers a captivating mix of cooking demonstrations from top chefs, live music, craft stalls and, of course, plenty of freshly shucked local oysters. Gather your friends and enjoy seafood feasts paired with wine – it’s a Cornish autumn favourite and a fabulous way to soak up the fresh coastal atmosphere.
Manchester Literature Festival
Across Manchester (11 – 26 October 2025)
If you love books and literature, this inspirational festival celebrates storytelling and poetry through a dynamic programme of readings, discussions, performances, workshops and author events. Held in iconic venues across Manchester, it’s not only a great way to explore the city, but also a welcoming event that brings people together to share their passion for language. Capturing the wistful vibe of autumn, the festival offers a mix of entertainment, learning and reflection.
Fireworks & Drone Festival – Halloween Spooktacular
Alexandra Palace, London (31 October and 1 November 2025)
When Halloween and Bonfire Night collide, you’re in for an epic evening of ghostly thrills. Alexandra Palace is hosting an impressive Halloween-themed fireworks and drone show featuring spooky bonfires, ghost tours of the Victorian Theatre and a fancy dress competition. The celebrations continue with live music – from 90s garage legends DJ Luck and MC Neat to Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton tribute acts – plus Oompah bands, a buzzing bierkeller, a funfair, ice discos and over 50 street food vendors.

Cardiff City Centre (13 November – 23 December 2025)
The Cardiff Christmas Market will transform the city centre into a winter wonderland, with over 70 beautifully decorated wooden stalls offering handmade gifts, local crafts, delicious treats and warming festive drinks. Whether you’re picking up unique gifts or enjoying your first mulled wine with a side of mince pie, the market is the biggest and best in Wales – the perfect way to spend time with family and get into the festive spirit.
