We’ve said it once, we’ll say it again. In these uncertain times, our homes have become even more important than ever. For many of us, our spaces are the automatic go-to for work, rest and play, and even though pockets of society are almost back to normal, there’s always a chance that we’ll get locked down again, and need to stay home. So, it comes as no surprise that these hard-working homes of ours need more kit to help us navigate these unpredictable times which, in turn, means we’ve got more stuff to store! Lucky for us, we found a fabulous blog from Remodelista ‘Storage Ideas for Every Room in the House‘
These are our highlights:
If your home is anything like ours, it’s being used and abused far more than pre-pandemic times. Time to make like it’s January and declutter and organise once more. May these storage ideas from Remodelista inspire your mission:
• In the bedroom: Built-in oak closets bring warmth to the dressing area
• In the Hallway: A simple hat rack brings beautiful organisation to a front entry
• In the mudroom: Built in closets with integrated shoe cubbies
• In the bathroom: Artful storage is possible
• In the kitchen: Minimalist kitchen cabinets and built-ins (including a window seat with concealed storage)
Futon Company says: The photography in this Blog absolutely blew us away! And while we don’t all have a Mudroom (does anybody?!), it’s nice to daydream and be inspired. Coming back to reality, there are some handy hacks here that easily translate for small space living. For example, utilising the space you have available with useful and multi-functional furniture; making the most of an entry space (if you’re lucky enough to have one); selecting storage that is easy-on-the-eye and which brings warmth to a cold space. And in this pandemic world, where every inch of storage is to be savoured, even the humble hook and wall shelf has a role to play in helping us to successfully stash our stuff!
