Showing Your True Colours


According to colour-therapists, colour can affect our mood, emotions and possibly even our health.  So when it comes to decorating and accessorising your home, the shades you choose have the power to affect how you feel.  In our new Spotlight blog we’ll be focusing on a colour each week, taking inspiration from the team at as well as other experts in the field on decorating with colour.



Typically associated with courage and strength, red is confident, energetic and strong. As says, “this is a colour with a lot to say – and don’t expect it to say anything quietly.”  Red is the colour of passion, blood and fire.  Test after test has proven its ability to pack a psychological punch.  Waitresses who wear read can expect to receive higher tips while sporting teams with red kits tend to win more often.  Red is clearly the colour of champions and its impact in the home is no less significant.  This is a colour which has been used to paint the walls in our homes for generations and blood red walls are the perfect colour for regal dining rooms.  However, if red walls are a little bit beyond your comfort zone, consider a red accent to get your pulse racing…
