In need of some well-earned R&R? Need to unwind close to home but have your pet pooch to consider? Harriet Allmark recommends her favourite dog-friendly hotels in the UK.
London – Egerton House Hotel
For luxury, look no further than Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge. Their free Very Important Pets service includes toys, treats, pet dining and walks. There’s also a four-hour Pet Spa Day (£99) with an aromatherapy bubble bath. Doubles from £305, dogs stay free.
New Forest – New Park Manor
New Park Manor is a 17th century former hunting lodge with amazing grounds. Expect treats in abundance. Only the dining room and spa are out of bounds for Bonzo. Doubles from £115 a night, plus £15 for your dog.
Devon – Cary Arms
The Cary Arms is next to Torquay’s dog-friendly Getaway, and until 24th March, includes a three-course dinner plus a dog’s dinner. Doubles from £450 for the two-night break, dogs stay free on the package.
Wales – The Falcondale
With 14 acres of grounds, The Falcondale near Lampeter is ideal for Fido. Blankets, leads and treats are available and well-behaved dogs can have meals with you in the conservatory. Doubles from £100 a night, plus £10 for your dog.
Cotswolds – The Old Swan and Minster Mill
The Old Swan and Minster Mill near Witney will host your pet in style. The Canine Traveller Trip includes a walker’s guide, packed lunch, dinner and breakfast for you, plus a dog bed, bowl and dinner for your pet. Available until 31st March. Scotland – Trigony House Hotel
