Whether you’re looking for fab food, funky music or simply a place to hang out, the UK’s festival circuit has it all. Check out the hottest festivals taking place around the country this summer, courtesy of Grazia Magazine, 18 June (grazia.co.uk)
British Summer Time – Hyde Park London
Grazia says: The one-dayer that defies genre, the British Summer Time festival, has become a huge fixture – and this year has a mostly nostalgic feel. Over two weekends, headliners Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, The Cure, Roger Waters, Michael Bublé and Bruno Mars will entertain the crowd with a supporting cast ranging from Bananarama to Santana and Goldfrapp. 6-8 and 13-15 July.
The Big Feastival – Cotswolds
If your experience of festival food is soggy chips and dry pasties, says Grazia, then this one will be a treat for your taste buds. Based at Alex James’ Cotswolds farm, chefs from Raymond Blanc to Gizzi Erskine are booked to cater for your every food whim, while Craig David, Paloma Faith and Clean Bandit provide the entertainment. 24-26 August.
End of the Road Festival – Dorset
If you still haven’t had enough of festivals come September, there’s no better way to round the season off, says Grazia. A frequent award winner, this year Vampire Weekend, St Vincent and Feist headline. An entirely manageable, totally charming weekend in Dorset. 30 August-2 September.
Starry Skies – Monmouthshire
From forest school and bush craft to a fancy-dress disco and family raves plus treasure hunts, den-building, tree-climbing and even a chance to build your own adventure playground, Starry Skies is the perfect fun-filled adventure for families. The setting is idyllic too, near the beautiful village of Usk in Monmouthshire. 8-12 August.
TRNSMT – Glasgow
Last year named Britain’s Best New Festival, TRNSMT is back again, taking over Glasgow. There’s a strong line-up if you still like your summers to be about guys and girls with guitars. Arctic Monkeys, Liam Gallagher, The Killers, Texas, Jessie Ware and Chvrches all take to Glasgow Green this summer, say Grazia. 6-8 July.
Futon Company says: We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again, if you’re on the road and away from home don’t despair of a good night’s kip – come armed with your very own zzzzz-inducing goodies. Check out our festival-friendly sleepover range to make your temporary space a real home-from-home.
