But if you’re a nature-groupie at heart and hankering after the real deal, Grazia offers some inspiring tips on the House Plant Hot List. It says, “House plants bring the outside in, but as well as providing a pop of colour and interesting shapes, studies (including one by NASA) have found that they act as ‘pollutant sponges’, absorbing toxins in the air (released from paints, carpets, cleaning products and furniture).”

It continues, “The current hot trends [for house plants] are for succulents, usually small, in a terrarium, or evergreens with striking silhouettes. Go for one stand-out plant that works as a living sculpture or group smaller ones together.” According to the feature, the hottest on-trend statement plants to help you get your nature-fix by bringing the outdoors in are the yucca, fiddle-leaf fig, Swiss cheese plant and rubber plant.
